FESTIVAL BRANDING CONCEPT

Inspired by “Bright Side,” an El Paso Latin American Music Festival, OLE is a rendition and rebrand of this concept. Exploring lively, bright, and upbeat colors, the feel of the brand is meant to mimic a Latin party with endless energy. Illustration, photography, and typography all mesh together throughout the brand to deliver an exciting feel. Welcome to the fiesta!

LOGO DEVELOPMENT

Merging two ideas into one for this logo was the main goal, those ideas being the location of this festival and the fact that music is the focus. There were numerous iterations to try and achieve an easily understand, clean, and bold look. The outcome became a simplified record with a star in the middle to relate back to El Paso, Texas.

The resulting icon is easily translated into different needs for the brand. The circular record can stand on its own as the logo, or the full word can stand on its own as well even without the subhead. To further the versatility of usage in the brand, the circular vinyl can be used with a graphic star behind it to act as another secondary mark.

Each color is inspired by traditional latin color palettes, with bright and opaque colors used throughout cultures. I chose classic colors such as reds and yellows, and I turned up the brightness and saturation to make them extra vibrant. The result is a palette with each color being just as eye catching as the next.
